Kenyan high court stops deportation of two SPLM-IO officials to Juba A High Court in Kenya has issued an order directing immigration authorities to stop any process for deportation of the two South Sudanese opposition officials who have been missing in Nairobi since Monday. Dong Samuel Luak is a prominent lawyer and opposition figure who has spoken out against human rights abuses in South Sudan. Aggrey Idri Izbon is a chairman of the SPLM-IO committee for humanitarian affairs under rebel leader Riek Machar. Justice Luka Kimaru has directed County Criminal Investigations Officer Nicholas Kamwende to take over the case and investigate the disappearance and then present a report to the high court  next Tuesday . Fighting resumes on west bank of Upper Nile

Fighting broke out again today morning on west bank areas of Upper Nile between government troops and SPLA-IO fighters allied to former vice president Riek Machar, a rebel spokesman said. Col. William Gatjiath Deng, military spokesman of the SPLA-IO, told Radio Tamazuj today that the government forces shelled their areas in Owach on the west bank of the Nile, prompting their forces to fight back. He pointed out that the clashes between the two sides erupted in Lelo, Warjuok and Detang areas since morning and that the clashes were still continuing. “The fighting started since morning in Lelo and Warjuok and the fighting is still ongoing in Warjuok, Lelo and Detang, the fighting is continuing up to now,” said Gatjiath. “Those areas are controlled by the government, but they went out and shelled our areas since the last two days, and today they shelled our forces in the morning, we are not far from their area,” he added. ONE PERSON INJURED AND YOUTH CLASH FORCES IN EASTERN LAKES STATE

At least one person injured on Thursday morning after bodyguard of commissioner clashed with a group of armed cattle keepers      at a cattle camp which is proposal Ngop River county headquarters, eyewitness told  Reporters Without Tribes  now youth are still in the bush which also make tension in the county. Violence reportedly erupted after Commissioner Diardit Bol forced youth into area that is not good with their cattle’s and police surrounded the cattle camp and allegedly ordered a group of youth to vacate the area. That confrontation has result to fight between the few soldiers in the county and the armed youth who called themselves Human Rights which emerged to protect their cows and properties from anybody . The state government is yet to comments on the incident.

Yambio rural women call for end to violence against women

Over 30 women from rural areas in Yambio County on Thursday called on the people of the newly created Gbudue State to end all forms of violence against women in the community. NEWS IN GEBUDUE   The women made the call during a one-day advocacy training workshop for women in rural areas organized by Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) in collaboration with SUCCESS. Speaking on a program aired on Yambio FM, Angela Angelo, representative of the participants, urged women to speak about what is affecting them in the society. For his part, Ripai Justin, facilitator of the training, called upon the state government and the people of Gbudue state to pay too much attention to issues affecting women. Residents living in displaced camps under UN protection in the South Sudanese capital Juba on Friday demonstrated peacefully in support of Donald Trump’s swearing-in today as the 45th president of the United States. KING OF MOROCCO TO VISIT SOUTH SUDAN

The King of Morocco, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is expected to arrive in South Sudan  on Friday for a three-day official visit aimed at broadening cordial relations between the two countries, a spokesman for the government said. Speaking after a news conference  on Wednesday , Michael Makuei Lueth, Minister of Information and Government Spokesman, announced that the King of Morocco will arrive in the capital Juba  on Friday , saying the visit aims at deepening the existing bilateral relations between South Sudan and Morocco “The Council of Ministers listened to the report on the preparation for the visit of the King of Morocco to the Republic of South Sudan. South Sudan’s new Central Bank Governor vows to improve economy.

NEWS JUBA SOUTH SUDAN Dr. Othom  Rago  Ajak, the newly appointed governor of South Sudan’s Central Bank has pledged to work hard to improve the country’s economy and reduce inflation. In his first speech as new central bank governor during the swearing in ceremony before President Salva  Kiir today at the State House, Othom thanked President  Kiir for appointing him as governor of the central bank of South Sudan. He vowed to exert great efforts to make economic reforms. “We are grateful to the president for selecting us and putting his confidence that we can run the bank.
