South Sudanese Refugees marks world refugee day in kakuma camp.

NEWS IN KAKUMA REFUGEE CAMP World Refugee Day is observed every year on 20 th   June in order to raise the public awareness about refugee’s situations throughout the world. PHOTO TAKEN BY REPORTERS WITHOUT TRIBES IN KAKUMA REFUGEE CAMP  The annual celebration was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2000. Its first celebration was marked on 20th June, 2001. According to the UN Refugee Agency, the number of refugees is at the highest ever recorded, with a staggering 65.6 million people currently fleeing from conflict or persecution and seeks protections inside their  countries of origins and outside their country . The most  places affected  by conflicts  are south Sudan  refugee in kakuma  73.408 .Nairobi  3,400 and Dabaab 10.009  that is according the United  Nations   reports

Media body criticizes banning of foreign journalists in South Sudan

Top of Form Bottom of Form The Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS) has criticized the Media Authority for banning 20 foreign journalists from entering or operating within the country for allegedly reporting unsubstantiated and unrealistic stories. south Sudanese journalists during  in  fighting  j1  July 2016  The Media Authority said recently that the journalist prohibited from covering issues in South Sudan have often reported stories that have the potential to incite hate and violence among South Sudanese. The regulatory body was created under a bill signed into law in 2014. South Sudan's Kiir declines to attend IGAD summit

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir has decided not to take up an invitation from the East African regional bloc IGAD to attend an extraordinary summit in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa on Monday, his office said on Thursday. The IGAD summit, to be attended by heads of state and government from IGAD countries, will discuss the dire security and humanitarian situation facing South Sudan and the obstacles to the implementation of the signed peace deal. President Kiir’s spokesman, Ateny Wek Ateny, said Kiir will not attend the IGAD summit. “He [President Kiir] will not attend the IGAD summit. The president has already sent a letter of apology through the minister in his office,” said Ateny when contacted by Radio Tamazuj “There are no reasons, but the president is attending to other things here in South Sudan. South Sudan bans 20 foreign journalists

By JOSEPH ODUHA     JUBA SOUTH SUDAN,           The South Sudan Media Authority (SSMA) has banned 20 foreign journalists from entering or operating in the country for what it termed “unsubstantiated and unrealistic stories”. The chairman of the regulatory agency, Elijah Alier, said most of the affected journalists had often reported stories with the potential to incite hate and violence among the South Sudanese. Mr Alier, who did not disclose any names, said the agency had issued over 200 permits to foreign journalists and media houses to operate in the country.. He said some of the journalists had neither reliable sources nor specific geographical bases, factors he blamed for the claimed inaccuracies in their reports. CHOLERA OUTBREAK PARALYZED LEARNING IN KAKUMA REFUGEE

Both public places and secondary and primary  schools are paralyzed in the camp due to  outbreak of cholera which most people avoid public places because of simple spreads in the camp. An outbreak of cholera has been reported in Kakuma Refugee camp. Turkana County Executive in charge of health and sanitation Jane Ajele said 25 cases have been confirmed at the camp. She said those affected are mainly refugees from the Dinka Community who recently streamed in from South Sudan following tensions in the country. Cholera epidemic that has been spreading in the kakuma refugee camp for the second time .health practitioner are warning the people to report any related symptoms of the disease to the near health facilities in the camp  group leaders and the public health workers are asked to  be alert . Most  communities affected are Somali community .Ethiopian  Rwandan
