SOUTH SUDAN JOURNALIST HELD IN NATIONAL SECURITY DETENTION CENTRE IN RUMBEK

 Manyang  Mayom a journalist working with the united Nation owned  ‘ radio mirraya one of the only humanitarian radio in the country since the independence of  south Sudan he was  arrested and detained by the South Sudanese National Security Service (NSS) on 14 October 2017 He is currently held at the National security headquarters in Makoi  village in the state capital Rumbek . The arrest have becoming breaking news on social media as well the relatives and friends of  veteran journalist  Manyang  one of the friend said , Manyang  was traveling for  his Mawat  uncle wife  who died in Rumbek  funeral which has  not reach the burial as well funeral . No reasons given yet despite negotiations are under way in the state capital Rumbek with possible of releasing him in Rumbek he is going to be taken to juba for further more investigations. Johnson Olony rejects IGAD consultation on peace process

Johnson Olony, a top general in the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-In-Opposition (SPLA-IO) rejects contents of the IGAD revitalization forum which seeks to consult him separately from his boss Riek Machar, according to his spokesman. “We are part of the SPLM-IO faction led by Dr. Riek Machar. The timetable was designed by IGAD countries, so General Olony will not meet IGAD,” spokesmen of the Fashoda state, Musa Akiech Kur told Radio Tamazuj today. “The meeting should be with Dr. Riek Machar because we are one movement. The timetable released by IGAD doesn’t work with us. We reject the timetable because if they [IGAD] would meet Machar then all our grievances will be addressed through Machar,” he added. Consultations, according to the timetable, will start from 13-17 October, with leaders in South Sudan’s unity government to be consulted first. I’m alive, I was never wounded, Akobo governor says

The government-appointed governor of Akobo State Johnson Gony Biliu has dismissed claims that he was fatally injured in recent clashes with rebel fighters in the town of Waat in Bieh State. Gony told Radio Tamazuj this afternoon that he is currently in Waat town in good health condition, pointing out that nothing happened to him during fighting. “I am now in Waat, I am find and in good health condition. I was never wounded as claimed, so whoever has doubts has to come to see me in Waat,” he said. Gony, who is also a top general in the SPLA army, said the security situation has returned to normal in the town of Waat. He also disputed reports by opposition forces that the town of Waat is divided into two between government forces and SPLA-IO troops. The government official claimed that SPLA is still maintaining its position in Waat and that the rebels have already been repulsed from the area. “The rebels are in Walgak.
