URBAN REFUGEES WAITING FOR THEIR ID CARDS.










NEWS IN ELDORET

South Sudanese urban refugees living in major towns of Kenya including Nakuru .kisumu Mombasa.and Eldoret Kenya has received their identifications card today in Eldoret town of Uasin Gishu county. Has hosts thousands of refugees from different countries .the majority where from south Sudan. The  elderly  women waiting  to be calls by UNCHR  officers  to their  identifications  cards  despites  it takes a lot  time .because eldoret is the only serves  refugees from kitale .Bungoma  and  kapnguria 

  
The department  for Refugees Affairs  came out last year  an exercise  to registered  all refuges in the country to be and get their  identifications  documents  .for that especially   100.000 south Sudanese who have been fled to country since the conflicts  erupted  in the capital juba and  rest and  spreads  to rest of the country .


 One of the south Sudanese woman madams Nyanluak celebrated after receiving UNCHR identifications she says that it is long struggle to get the identifications in here but we thanks government of Kenya and partners like UNCHR for considering our situations.

The officer in charge of registration madam Nancy added that they are still receiving a lot from south Sudan since the conflicts begun until and with recent fighting in  the capital juba early July .sporadic  violence  and worsening food insecurity and economics  problems also make some families  to come to our office for assistance  to the refugee camps

Kenya  government also have created department of refugees that protects and facilitates  the problems facing refugees in the urban centers in Kenya .since police becoming problems  to the people the government provided department  to registered and give identifications cards so that they will moved simply in the country.

Most of the people are waiting for their identifications for them to move freely and conducts some business like normally citizens. Because most of the people now are turning  to be refuges because of the economic situations back in the country  south Sudan.
