For immediate release on rebuttal to the leaked video tape conversation

Image
Happy New Year to the suffering people of south Sudan. Since I was released from house arrest in Juba, there have been persistent rumours flying around cooked to damage my reputation and drive a wedge between me and President Salva Kiir Mayardit. I was allowed by the President to seek medical treatment in neighboring Kenya. The enemies of peace would not let me rest. I have learnt with great surprise that there is a purported leaked tape recording my conversation with junior commanders on the ground to rebel and fight government. I would want to make it clear to the people of south Sudan that the tape is fake and doesn’t bear the slightest authenticity in it. The tape record is a clear imitation of my voice minted by my well known enemies. There are individuals around president whose work is to create damaging rumours in order to survive in this collapsing economy. To set record straight, south Sudanese must know that I personally purchased this recording machi...

Program targets South Sudanese youth in Melton

A support and mentor program that aims to take Melton’s South Sudanese youth off the streets and get them into a supported environment is set to launch this weekend. Community leaders John Garang Kon and Deruka Dekuek have been heavily involved in supporting South Sudanese families and connecting them to local services for the past several years. Mr Kon says one of the most pressing issues facing South Sudanese youth is unemployment, and a recent spike in early school drop-outs. “Most of these young people have lived in refugee camps, where there was no formal education,” he says. “They don’t understand the system, and they haven’t received any education at a young age. “When you don’t have that basic foundation, it’s hard to navigate through the education system in Australia.” After talking to South Sudanese youth on the streets and mentoring them after school, Mr Kon noticed a disconnect between youth and mainstream organisations. He decided to come up with a better ...

The condemnation of violation of the ceasefire by the rebels.

Image
Rebels have to understand that respect to peace is more cheapest than restoring to wars and con flicts, because war is nasty and brutal Very unfortunately that the rebels from day one of signing of the agreement begin to violate the cessation of hostilities in various parts of the country. Despite, all these antagonizing on the rebels side to continue attacking the SPLA forces positions to gain more territory, SPLA still remain maintaining their positions for self defense with high level of disciplines for the smooth implementation of the peace agreement and respect to permanent ceasefire. Its the role of IGAD to put in place a clear mechanism of mentoring the indiscipline misuse behaviour of the rebels and sanction them accordingly for their continues of violating the agreement and subjecting the common men of south sudan to untold suffering.
