Security personnel killed in Ruweng road accident.

At least nine National Security personnel were killed when their vehicle crashed into a truck in Ruweng State on Saturday. Seven others were seriously injured in the accident.

Ruweng’s Minister of Local Government Makuac Deng Makuac told Radio Tamazuj Monday that the accident was caused due to reckless driving. He added that the National Security vehicle was moving at a high speed before slamming into a truck on the same roadway.
The government official explained that the vehicle was carrying security personnel of Toma South oilfields. He pointed out that the injured soldiers were flown to Juba for treatment.” The road accident occurred between Panakuach and Pariang,” he said.
Makuac noted that the crash happened around 2:30 pm.
Separately, the state minister said the security situation is stable in the state. He pointed out that they had rolled out security arrangements for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
