SOUTH SUDAN ARMY SAYS IT HAS REPULSED WUNKUR ATTACK BY REBELS

The South Sudanese army said it repulsed on Saturday a rebel attempt to extend their control to other areas outside Ruweng state the capital of oil-producing of former unity state

Heavy gunfire raged on   Saturday morning for more than 6   hours on the outskirts of panriang county of Ruweng state Between the South Sudanese army and the rebel SPLM-In Opposition, combined with foreign forces according to the information on the ground.

Eyewitness said that explosions were heard to the south and west of the town, where the army claimed it repulsed attempts by rebel forces to move out the area located about  few kilometers from the Ruweng state capital
